If you cannot pick up your packet from the Expo on Friday, they will be available on the Start/Finish area on Race Day. Please arrive with enough time to get your packet and not miss your start time, ideally at least one hour prior to start. Parking locations are approximately a 10-20 minute walk from the Start/Finish area which will be the site of all late registration activity and we encourage you take a shuttle to avoid parking congestion.
Bib numbers will be assigned in alphabetical order by race distance. Each distance will have a different color bib number for accurate scoring and clarity on the race course.
When a race volunteer provides your bib, IMMEDIATELY confirm correct name spelling, age, gender, hometown and race distance to ensure that you get the correct bib AND that the scoring information is correct.
If any information is not correct, please go immediately to the Solutions Table and provide an update.
There is a bottom Gear Bag Tag on your bib for use for gear bag drop off and pick-up on race day. If you choose to use it, the tent labeled Gear Drop is located at the Start/Finish line concourse.
RACE DISTANCE switches must be made pre-race at the Solutions Table. Switching up to a longer race will require an incremental entry cost payment; switching down will not offer a refund. Switches without notifying the Solutions Table will result in scoring disqualification.
Switches on Race Day for medical reasons will try to be accommodated in scoring if notice is given immediately upon finish to the Timing team at the Start/Finish line.
Your bib has a disposable RFID timing chip attached to the back. You cannot alter the bib number in any way (except by removing the Gear Bag Tag). The bib MUST be worn on the outer-most garment FACING FORWARD and is best attached at chest level with only two upper safety pins for effective timing. YOUR BIB MUST BE VISIBLE AT ALL TIMES IN ORDER TO BE TIMED. Safety pins will be provided to you.
Gun Time vs. Chip Time: The 2016 Sedona Marathon Event will be timed using chip timing technology and award all prizes (top three) based on gun time as opposed to chip time. Gun time is the time from when the start gun sounds until when you cross the finish line, and is deemed by USATF (USA Track and Field) to be the fair measure of a race awards/prizes finish order. In addition, we will publish results in finish order based upon chip time. Chip time is the time from when you cross the start line until when you cross the finish line, and is considered official for recording your personal best, specific course records, and qualifications for meeting entry standards in other events.
Remember: NO TAG, NO FINISHING TIME! Your bib number must be worn on the front of your body at chest height in order to be read by the timing systems. Do not bend/fold/cut/alter the bib number and timing tag in any way. NO need to return the bib/tag post-race, it's yours to keep!
